Boy where does the time go. I've been meaning to update for quite some time, but laziness always prevail when I think about trying to write a post. Last month I was able to pull in a ROI of 40% which was decent. Miniftops and trying to satellite into those events really brought my ROI down, but if I can book a positive month, I'll take it. The miniftops were a nice change of pace and I cant wait for the next series in December. We placed somewhere in the middle out of the 27 teams in the contest, but next time I hope to have a better showing.
This month I was planning to strictly concentrate on PLO and PLO8 tourneys, but last weekend decided to change my mind. I've now decided that I'm gonna try my hand at the PLO cap games for the month and see how that goes. I really don't know what to expect at the moment. I feel I should be able to pull a 10BB/100 hands at these lower levels but that may be too optimistic. I'll have to evaluate at the end of the week to see if thats possible. I just had a 4hr session that ended with me making a whopping $5. During that session, however, I did have a revelation on a new strategy that may help me to decrease the variance and maximize my profits while minimizing my losses. I'll definitely test it out in the next couple days, but I really think I'll see a significant difference in my sessions.
I've really been watching a lot of poker shows online. For those interested, you can go to PokerTube and check it out. They carry tons of shows and even have ones that don't get televised in the states. I've been watching alot of the European Poker Tour eps. They show more than just the final tables, and they have turned out to be a good watch. The commentators also do a pretty good job of calling the action and trying to analyze the play. Speaking of commentators, Norman Chad has to be the worst poker commentator ever. His jokes are not funny, his voice is just generally annoying, and I'm pretty sure he has no clue how to play poker. I was really disappointed that ESPN decided to pretty much only televise the Main Event this year and show none of the other preliminary events. If it wasn't for Phil Ivey, I wouldn't even be watching.
In non-poker news, my fantasy football team got off to a good start going 4-0. I did however get my first loss of the season last sunday. So now im 4-1 good for 2nd place in the league. I really want to do good this year in fantasy as my last two years have been abysmal. I've been really keeping up with it and as long as nobody gets injured (my roster really cant afford it), this could be my year to finally take it down. Shipshape.
