Vegas or Bust 2010

Wow I totally forgot I have a blog!.. Hah im j/k but yes I know its been forever since I last posted but lets face it, IM LAZY. These blogs always take much longer to write than I expect, so I just keep putting it off until I'm like screw it I'm just not going to write it. But its the first MiniFTOPS of the year and I couldnt be more excited, so thought I'd make a "quick" post. For those that don't know, FTOPS is a tournament series that Full Tilt Poker runs every 3 months. It consist of 25-27 "big" buyin tournaments and huge 6-7 figure prize pools. Then sometime last year they introduced the MiniFTOPS which run the same events as the FTOPS but a month later and for 1/10th of the buyins. This is a low limit players dream. Huge prizepools but for a fraction of the cost. We're talking $22 entry fee and walking away with a first prize of $50k+. Not a bad ROI. Of course the tradeoff is that the fields also increase to 5-10x normal fields. Ranging from 8k-20k ppl in the NLHE events. Ive had minimal success in these series due to the fact I havent played much NLHE nor have I played in such huge fields so I chalk it up to inexperience. This series however is a whole new ball game. Not only am I ready for this series but I'll be able to play all the events I want to play. As you see this time the series falls on what happens to be my spring break. Of course the trade-off is I'll be spending most/all of my spring break playing tournaments but I figure I could use a break from all of the partying I've done past two months and sometimes you gotta to make sacrifices now to get to where you want down the road. However, the whole break may not be an entire grind of tournaments. As of now I'm gonna play 20/27 of the events but fellow Shipshape members Siva and Ben want me to meet them in Vegas on Monday. So if I can pull off a big score (10k+) between now and say Tuesday, I will be booking my flight to Vegas asap. I've never been to Vegas since turning 21 and alot of yall are probably thinking.. Wait you play poker and have never been to Vegas?!.. Yes a tragedy I know, so I would love nothing more than to ship a tourney and then head to Vegas to relax for the rest of the break.

Well wish me luck. Event 1 starts in about 3 hrs, so I'm gonna get some food and a little rest in to prepare for the 10hr+ tourney thats about to ensue... Shipshape.
